Curriculum Development

I have years of experience designing and developing instructional materials--everything from short tutorials to semester long courses. I am unable to give complete access to a number of these courses and materials because they are either password protected or because of their proprietary nature.

However, I have selected a few artifacts below as evidence of my curricular development experience. Mouse over the thumbnails for enlarged screenshots. I've also included specific artifacts whenever possible under the project name. Click on the specific artifacts when applicable.

[Note: Please read this chapter on Enterprise Models for more on the proprietary nature and team-based approach of some of the courses I designed and developed when working at Regis University]

M. Ed. Instructional Technology
When working at Regis University, I designed and developed (and received state approval for) a M. Ed. in Instructional Technology. I then oversaw the design and development of each course and served as both a SME as well as a instructional designer for a few of the courses in the program.

Graphic Design

While I have never been employed as a "graphic designer," I spend a great deal of time and energy applying instructional message design principles and an overall focus on aesthetics to everything I do--whether that is print-based or web-based. In fact, the majority of artifacts on this site illustrate my focus on the ways things are designed. To avoid redundancy, I have not included additional links to images. Simply mouseover the thumbnail for an enlarged view of the image.

Website
This is my current website. It illustrates a different approach to designing the interface than the previous two versions. I wanted a site that could serve as a blog as well as a personal website. I created this site using a simple WordPress theme (Clean Home) and then redesigned it almost completely with CSS.

Subject-matter Experts

I have worked with a number of subject-matter experts over the years to design instructional materials as well as complete online courses. I have also served as a subject-matter expert myself. The following are a few examples of when I have worked with subject-matter experts to design and develop instructional materials.
